Lucy Almey Bird Art

Born in 1973, I grew up in rural Somerset. I was always encouraged to draw and paint from an early age and was taken on regular trips to galleries and museums, which ignited my passion for art. I am completely self-taught, having not taken the conventional route through education.

I paint mostly in acrylics on board and takes inspiration from everyday life – especially my three daughters. Domestic scenes feature regularly in my paintings, depicting a romanticised, gentler look at life. My work takes you away from a sometimes troublesome world into a world of floaty dresses, country walks and snuggling up with a good book.

My work is exhibited in galleries throughout the UK.
